So, if you've seen all the ruckus about the new cross-posting 'feature' LJ is now offering you probably have an opinion about it one way or another. Personally, I don't want anything I post on LJ (original post, comment, reply, what-have-you) to be posted anywhere else unless I choose to make it so. I rather like my LJ being separate from, well, pretty much everything else in my virtual world.
Thanks to ratherastory via saberivojo , I have a work around.
If you want to eliminate the repost links in your own journal entry comments, you can do the following:
1. Go to your "Journal" menu, and select "Journal Style"
2. To the right, you'll see what theme you're using, with a link stating "Customize Your Theme". Click that link.
3. Scroll down a little ways, and you'll see that on the left side of your screen, you have multiple options to modify your theme. Click on the "Custom CSS" link, and it should load the options for doing Custom CSS.
4. From here, all you have to do is go to the "Custom Stylesheet", and put in the line
If you, like me, already have a custom CSS design in there, just put that command at the bottom of the page beneath everything that is currently in the box.
Once that's in there, save the changes. The End.
One thing to be careful about: this doesn't eliminate the cross-post ticker option thing on an original post (at least it didn't for me). It's just for comments. Hopefully LJ will fix the other quickly.
