Traveling, staying home, Harper Lee, sitting by a campfire at night in a too-big sweatshirt, Riesling and Cabernet (but not together), Eddie Vedder's sexy growl, Staind lyrics, the way listening to Breaking Benjamin makes me feel, anything by Led Zeppelin, watching my husband with our daughter, watching my husband do just about anything, that scene in Forrest Gump when Forrest and Jenny meet in D.C. in the middle of the Washington Memorial reflection pool, the last 15 minutes of Field of Dreams when Ray says "You wanna have a catch" (sob), BBQ'd burnt ends, planning things and making lists, saying "you have _got_ to be kidding me," crème brulee, telling stories.
Oh, and Jensen "My Eyes Are the Windows to My Soul" Ackles. Good Lord. And, wait! Also Colin "Bad-Boy Sexy" Ferrell. Guilty. Pleasure. I think that's it.
Dislikes:
Waking up five minutes before the alarm goes off, assumptions, accomplishing an errand that I forgot to put on my to-do list and thereby preventing the opportunity to cross that errand off said list, having to take my car to get the oil changed.
Favorite Shows:
Supernatural, NCIS, White Collar and re-runs of Friends (because they still make me laugh). Oh. And Sons of Anarchy. 'Cause my husband watches it with me. And I was a HUGE Buffy, X-files, Firefly fan-atic. Back in the day.
Bio:
On any given day, and in no particular order, I am a friend, a sister, a mom, a wife, a lover, a daughter, a survivor, a storyteller.
I have a fascinating five-year-old daughter, a frickin' demanding job, and a fantastically inspiring muse. I have been married to an amazing, uber-tollerant, soccer loving architect-turned-veterinary technician-now-stay-at-home-Dad for 10 years.
My current eccentricity (there have been many over the years) is an obsession with Supernatural and all things Winchester. My argument? Anything that sparks imagination cannot be bad for you.
Ambition for writing:
I like reading and writing stories that take you out of your situation for awhile. That's the amazing thing about writing fiction, I think. You give yourself permission to say and do and be things in a story that you might not dream of doing in real life. I simply want to tell a story and make it entertaining for the time that the words are in front of you, and make the characters real enough that you empathize with their situation. If you take anything else away from it, well, that's like...finding 20 bucks in the pocket of a coat you haven't worn since last winter.
